Intro: This shot shows our daughter Pam with Jean, posing on the staircase in the entrance hall of the new Civil Engineering laboratories at UC Davies, California, before the inauguration. The self-supporting staircase  forms part of the siesmic bracing.

Pamela was the Design Engineer and Project Manager of the whole construction. Edward Teller was the Principal Speaker at the opening ceremony and gave a very interesting talk on Cold Fusion...

Derek was gobsmacked that Edward Teller, the "Father of the Hydrogen Bomb", was present!

To have a co-signatorie of Einsteins' letter to Roosevelt at the ceremony was staggering!

In fact Szilard was the instigator and Teller was his chauffeur at the time(!)

(Photo below) Jean explains "You see, Edward, if you press the
button gently like this, people won't suffer as much...

...and all the stars in the sky seem to be co-existing very peacefully;
could you explain once more why we need to have 'Star Wars'?"

But Edward is more interested in:
"And where from is it in England you are coming?"
