What the Editor has to say!

TIME FLIES LIKE AN ARROW (though fruit flies like a banana...) and it seems like only yesterday since the last issue. We hope everyone escaped the flu outbreak, or at least didnt suffer too much. We have had a bad spell with mild flu and family problems. As a result the next issue will have to be out early - Tuesday 27th April - or not at all. So.... your help will be well appreciated - thanks! Some of you found a BBMA membership application form in your envelope last time, and the rest of you this time. If you are already a BBMA member please use the form to enlist another member. If you are not a member then *please* think about joining! No problem with the extra cost of postage for these pamphlets - the BBMA has agreed to pay for it. This is a bad time of year for news - nothing much happens, so this time there are more of the general -purpose type articles, which tend to be more serious in nature. I have tried to balance that with some articles in a lighter vein; one such is the report of our California Trip last November. We covered the big gig in the January issue (Suzanne Thomas & Friends) so instead of going on about the USA bands and classic venues I decided to tell you about the more interesting (as I see it!) side of our adventures. I mean, all work and no play makes Bluegrass a dull business.
Your Internet Web site continues to flourish on
Freeserve - over 15,000 visits world-wide (18 Feb 1999). Unfortunately I
will have to keep on the AOL service for a long while to give everyone chance
to update their links. It would be a big help if you would start using the
new formats: We are very short of contributors for Guitar tablatures - if you have anything worthwhile please send it in - with a description and/or discussion if at all possible - these make the tabs interesting for non-players as well as helping players.
