What the Editor has to say!

Derek Brandon  Write to Derek

The last edition arrived in dribs and drabs because I had a lot of family problems that have taken up most of my time, but I think the finished result was decent with a wide range of coverage but, sadley, lacking in Tablatures.

My problems continued with daily hospital visits then arranging a nursing home and cuminating, sadly, in the passing of my father in the last week of March and the funeral on 3rd April. All these things made it impractical to do any NWBN work so at the time of writing there is little for the mag. Probably time to pull out some of those "timeless", but nonetheless very interesting, articles. So once more it will build up in dribs and drabs.... but then always something to look forward to!

May means "Bluegrass Month". Not much will be arranged specially in the UK, but at least the North Wales Bluegrass Club is celebrating with a Bluegrass Day which we hope as many as possible will attend. If you organise a British Bluegrass Month event and send me the details I will post them for you right away!

I said this last time and it still stands: It is getting harder to get tablatures with an accompanying description. Guitar tabs in particular are hard to get at any level, so if you are able why not send us one in? Tabrite or MusEdit format is OK. But a description of some sort is essential - that's because there are endless sites for straightforward tabs, but we like to add that little extra that gives them more meaning. Also they must be your own work. See some Instrumental Workshops (and their corresponding article links) for an idea of what's required.

Don't forget that it still isn't too late to enter the Andy Townend Award: Details
