  • Was held at 'The Bull and Stirrup Hotel', George St., Northgate, 1st, 3nd (& 5th) Mondays, Free entry.

  • Occasional free-entry "Showcase" nights are held, funded by raffles.
  • Bluegrass (plus Old-Timey & Gospel). Traditional instruments only.
  • Novices Bluegrass workshop/tutorial 8 - 9 p.m-ish.; 'no-messing' general pick after.
    Suitable for all standards, but it can get very 'hot' later on.
  • Jam session with the lead passed around to each person. (e.g., a trio counts 3).
  • Nice room. No-smoking, but no door in wide doorway so smoking OK in the corridor, where one can also play and hear the music.
  • Resident duo: "Almost Bluegrass".

After London, Chester is Englands' number one  "must-visit" stop for tourists world-wide.
