The Britannia Bluegrass Band

This is a four-piece performing band playing a variety of styles within the bluegrass idiom. Its program ranges from traditional songs in the Monroe mould, through more modern blugrass material to Hank Williams and to traditional banjo and fiddle tunes.  The band hosts the Britannia Bluegrass Club

Ted, Pete, Barry and Pat Pat Lindon - Banjo, Dobro, Guitar

Pat has played in a number of bands over the years including the Flat County String Band in the seventies. He alternates between banjo and Dobro and also provides the high tenor harmonies Barry Flynn - Guitar, Banjo, Dobro
Barry played with Hank Walters Dusty Road Ramblers for many years. As well as playing banjo and dobro he does most of the guitar work in the band, including some terrific Travis picking. Barry also sings harmony.

Ted Costello - Mandolin, Fiddle, Guitar
Ted played mandolin and guitar with Barry for many years in Hank Walters band. He sings most of the lead vocals and adds further variety to the instrumentation with his mandolin and his unusual fretted fiddle. Ted is also an accomplished luthier, having made the mandolins and some of the guitars played by the band.

Pete Mackie - Double Bass, Guitar
Pete provides the drive for the band with his double bass. He also takes some of the lead vocals and most of the bass harmonies. (He's also Consulting editor of the NWBN).
