This is a spiral
galaxy containing billions of stars. The
bright region at the centre is due to a high concentration of
stars and there may even be a black hole lurking there!
Our Solar System is in the outer arms of a galaxy somewhat
like this one. It is based on an insignificant, ordinary
star that we call the Sun.
